2.107 Exempt Purchase

An exempt purchase is a procurement action that has been identified by the University of Hawai‘i President as being excluded from the requirements of Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 103D, as amended. For a list of exempt procurement actions that have been approved by the University President, refer to the UH AP 8.220.9 Exempt Procurements.
Purchases of more than $10,000 procured under any of the exemptions found in UH AP 8.220.9 require the Attachment 1 Determination of Cost or Price Reasonableness form.
All purchase orders issued under an exemption should contain the following statement:
“Exempt purchase, pursuant to UH AP Section 8.220, Exemption No. (Exemption number _____).”
The exemption number cited must be from the list found in UH AP 8.220.
