TO: All RCUH Employees
On July 10, 2017, Governor David Ige passed Act 128 into law, which is a revision of the provision of the Hawai‘i Family Leave Law (HFLL) outlined in Chapter 398, HRS, to expand eligibility requirements to include the coverage of an employee’s sibling who has a serious health condition.
Employees who meet the eligibility requirements for HFLL as defined in the 3.660 RCUH Family Leave policy and have a sibling who has a serious health condition may apply for HFLL to care for his/her sibling. HFLL provides up to four (4) weeks of family leave entitlement for an employee per 12-month calendar year.
Employees who wish to apply for Hawai’i Family Leave to care for a sibling, birth of a child and to care for the newborn, placement of a child with you for adoption, care for a spouse, civil union partner, reciprocal beneficiary, child, parent, parent-in-law, legal guardian, grandparent, or grandparent-in-law with a serious health condition will need to submit the B-11 Family Leave Request Form and a Certification of Health Care Provider Form for Family Member’s Serious Health Condition (WH-380-F) to RCUH Human Resources Benefits Section for approval.
