RCUH Vendor Payments for November 15, 2022

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, we encountered a system error which affected our end of day business processing. Vendor payments for transactions approved on Tuesday, November 15 will be processed when the issue is resolved.

The Financial Portal will remain open and online purchasing, payment, and travel transactions can be created and approved. However, RCUH transactions approved on November 15 for UH Extramural accounts will NOT be transmitted or posted to the UH Kuali Financial System, and UH Project Fiscal Reports may reflect incorrect amounts and balances until the issue is resolved.

RCUH Financial Portal Maintenance: Friday, November 11, 2022, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The RCUH Financial Portal will be partially down for system maintenance on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (HST).

During this time period, the Financial Portal will be accessible and online purchasing, payment, and travel transactions can be created and saved. However, Fiscal Administrators will not have the ability to approve transactions and the Reporting functions will not be operational.

UPDATE – RCUH Vendor Payments for November 2, 2022

On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, we encountered a system error which affected our end of day business processing. Vendor payments for transactions approved on Wednesday, November 2 were processed on Thursday, November 3.

RCUH transactions approved on November 2 for UH Extramural accounts will be transmitted and posted to the UH Kuali Financial System on November 3.

NOTICE TO ATTORNEYS INTERESTED IN PROVIDING LEGAL SERVICES TO THE RESEARCH CORPORATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAIʻI

Wednesday, October 5, 2022: This posting was updated with new SOQ submittal dates.

Licensed attorneys who wish to provide specialized legal services to the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaiʻi (RCUH) for the remainder of the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2022, are invited to submit a Statement of Qualifications and Expression of Interest (SOQ) to RCUH pursuant to HRS § 103D-304.

RCUH is currently looking to contract for legal services in the following area:

  1. Employee Benefits.  Services shall include but not be limited to:
    1. Drafting, reviewing, and providing advice and recommendations relating thereto;
    2. Providing advice and recommendations regarding responses to claims asserted by current and former employees; 
    3. Participating in negotiations regarding items (a) and (b); and
    4. Providing guidance on applicable statutes, regulations, and other legal requirements.

RCUH currently offers many employee benefits ranging from paid and unpaid leaves, health insurances, flexible spending accounts, other pre-tax and post-tax deductions, retirement account contributions (401a, 403b), life insurance, long term disability insurance, and long term care insurance.

Previous experience advising employers is essential, and previous experience advising government agencies is preferred.

IRS Standard Mileage Rate Updated July 1, 2022

The Internal Revenue Service has announced an increase to the standard mileage rate for business travel for the remainder of calendar year 2022. Click here to see the IRS announcement.

The rate is now $0.625 per mile and may be claimed for business travel that occurs July 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.

RCUH Attachment 12, Current RCUH Travel Rates, has been updated with the mileage rate change. UH employees may refer to eTravel Allowable Rates & Memos.

Amendment #3 to RCUH Request for Proposals (RFP) No. CS2022-1

On July 1, 2022, the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH) issued RFP No. CS2022-1, “Designing, Furnishing, and Installing Functional Workspaces for the Relocation of RCUH Offices from the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa Innovation Center to East-West Center Burns Hall.” RCUH issued Amendment #1 on July 7, 2022 and Amendment #2 on July 12, 2022.

UPDATE – Problem with Payments – July 19, 2022

The RCUH Financial Portal is back in operation and you may resume approving transactions in the Financial Portal.

On Tuesday, July 19, 2022, we encountered a system error which affected our end of day business processing and consequently checks could not be printed. Vendor payments approved on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 will be processed a little later than normal on July 20, 2022.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, and we appreciate your patience.

Problem with Payments – July 19, 2022

On Tuesday, July 19, 2022, we encountered a system error which affected our end of day business processing and consequently checks could not be printed.  We are working to resolve the issue and we will post an updated announcement when the Financial Portal is back in operation. At this time, online purchasing, payment, and travel transactions cannot be approved until the issue is resolved.
