Nominations Open for 2023 Outstanding Employees of the Year Awards

NOMINATE YOUR PROJECT STAFF FOR THE 2023 RCUH OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR AWARDS

The awards encourage, recognize, and reward RCUH employees who have made demonstrable, significant, and exemplary contributions to their project during the past fiscal year (July 2022–June 2023) or years. The nominee must be in a regular-status position, employed by the nominating program for at least one (1) year, have passed their new hire probation period, and in good standing.

CATEGORIES

  1. Researcher/Project Manager (exempt status position)
  2. Project Support Staff (non-exempt status position)
  3. Team (2-4 staff in exempt and/or non-exempt positions)

AWARDS

  • $1,000 to the first place awardee in each category
  • $500 to the second place awardee in each category
  • $50 to each nominee

All nominees will be recognized at the RCUH Awards Luncheon to be held in October 2023.

NOMINATIONS

A Principal Investigator may submit one (1) nomination. Team nominations are limited to no more than four (4) individuals per team. Please ensure that your nominee(s) is/are willing to be interviewed and filmed on camera.

Each category will be limited to four (4) nominations. Due to the category limits, PIs must indicate their intent to submit a nomination by emailing [email protected] no later than April 28, 2023. The email should include the employee’s name and nomination category. Upon verification of employment status, RCUH will provide the PI with a nomination form. The deadline to submit a nomination form is May 31, 2023.

FILMING

Filming will occur in July and August.

Payment Information for March 31 and April 3, 2023

Vendor payments for transactions approved on Friday, March 31 and Monday, April 3, 2023 have been processed in accordance with our normal processing schedule. Checks were printed and distributed, and ePayments (ACH and Card) were processed. However, the Financial Portal Approved listing screens and Search All Documents have not been updated with payment information (Check Date, Check Number, Payment Type) for transactions approved on those days.

Payment Information for March 23 and March 29, 2023 – UPDATE

The Financial Portal Approved listing screens and Search All Documents have been updated with payment information (Check Date, Check Number, Payment Type) for transactions approved on Thursday, March 23 and Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

On March 23 and March 29, we encountered issues with the files needed to update the payment information in the RCUH system. This issue did not affect the processing of vendor payments for transactions approved on March 23 and March 29. Checks were printed and distributed, and ePayments (ACH and Card) were processed in accordance with our normal processing schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Project Feedback Survey on RCUH Services to be released April 10

On April 10, 2023, we will release an online survey to all Principal Investigators, Fiscal Administrators, and project staff. Update RCUH Vendor Payments for March 22, 2023

The RCUH Financial Portal is back in operation and users may resume approving transactions.

On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, we encountered a system error which affected our end of day business processing. Vendor payments for transactions approved on March 22 will be processed in accordance with our normal processing schedule.

RCUH transactions approved on March 22 for UH Extramural accounts will be transmitted and posted to the UH Kuali Financial System on March 23.

RCUH Vendor Payments for March 22, 2023

On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, we encountered a system error which affected our end of day business processing. Vendor payments for transactions approved on March 22 will be processed when the issue is resolved.

At this time, online purchasing, payment, and travel transactions cannot be approved in the Financial Portal until the issue is resolved. We are working to resolve the issue and we will post an updated announcement when the Financial Portal is back in operation.

RCUH transactions approved on March 22 for UH Extramural accounts will NOT be transmitted or posted to the UH Kuali Financial System, and UH Project Fiscal Reports may reflect incorrect amounts and balances until the issue is resolved.

RCUH Vendor Payments on February 3 and February 6, 2023

The RCUH Finance Department will be relocating from the UH Mānoa Innovation Center to East-West Center Burns Hall from Friday, February 3 through Monday, February 6, 2023.

Vendor payments for transactions approved on Thursday, February 2 will be processed in accordance with our normal business processing schedule. Vendor checks will be printed and distributed, and ePayments (ACH and Card) will be processed as normal.

For payment transactions approved on Friday, February 3 and Monday, February 6, vendor checks will not be printed or mailed until we resume business operations on Tuesday, February 7. During this time period, ePayments will continue to be processed as normal. The Financial Portal will remain operational and users may create and approve online purchase orders, payments, and travel transactions. RCUH transactions for UH Extramural accounts will continue to be transmitted and posted to the UH Kuali Financial System on a daily basis.

We will resume normal business operations on Tuesday, February 7.
