Ethics Training Class for State Employees

 

Due to an overwhelming response, the Hawaii State Ethics Commission has scheduled another ethics training class on Oahu on Friday, September 27, 2013Click here for information about the class. The class will be held at the Hawaii Convention Center and is open to all state employees

 

Employees can register for the class online at http://hawaii.gov/ethics or can call the Hawaii Ethics Commissions office at (808) 587‑0460.  

 

 

 

RCUH Vendor Record File

RCUH will soon begin the “clean up” of our vendor record file.  

 

  • Exact duplicate vendor name/address records and records without any activity within the last 2 years will be removed from the file. 

 

  • Concurrently, RCUH will be contacting “active” vendors, paid $600 or more to date, but for which the tax identification number or Federal tax classification is missing or incomplete, to complete and submit a Form W-9 to collect tax identification numbers and Federal tax classifications.

 

  • Updates to our web screens are planned.  A new vendor registration form and the requirement for users to attach a Form W-9 when a new vendor record is created will soon be forthcoming. 

 

Until these steps are completed and new procedures are implemented, we encourage RCUH users to search the vendor file carefully before creating a new vendor record.  You may contact [email protected] if you have questions or comments.

In order to minimize searching for the RCUH timesheets each pay period, we will have the current RCUH timesheet available in the Current News section of the RCUH website on the first working day of each pay period.

TRAINING – Personnel Action/Pay Award Form (PA/PAF)

 

A Personnel Action/Pay Award Form Training Session will be held to provide Principal Investigators and Project Administrators with a set of guidelines in completing the on-line PA/PAF form.  This is intended to expedite this process without submission of forms.  For fiscal staff, the new on-line personnel action/pay award forms will also calculate/display the full costs associated with pay adjustments (both for lump sums and adjustments to base pay rate).

RCUH Payroll Staff

Re-Posting — Management Fee for “GRS” and Revolving Accounts


In case you missed our original notice, we are re-posting our Current News item of May 10, 2013

Effective July 1, 2013, the RCUH fee for “GRS” and Revolving Fund accounts will be 3.2% MTDC in accordance with the Rate Agreement dated April 3, 2013 between UH/RCUH and the Federal Government.

The RCUH fee for “GRS” accounts may be reduced to 1.5% MTDC if serviced ordered amounts are paid to RCUH in advance.  To ensure the reduced rate, the service order must clearly indicate this is a “Bill in Advance” account.

Tropical Storm Flossie

Tropical Storm Flossie may pose possible disruptions to normal operations over the next couple of days.  Principal Investigators and Project Administrators are urged to take necessary precautions:

 

1. CHANGES IN WORK SCHEDULE due to weather conditions:

 

Principal Investigators are responsible to notify their RCUH employees whether or not to report to work.

 

 

If circumstances prevent the employees from reporting to their normal workplace, Principal Investigators will be responsible to determine which employees are allowed to work at an alternative work site.  If no alternative work or workplace is available, employees may be placed on vacation status (if available) or leave without pay status.

2.  EARLY TIMESHEET SUBMISSION:

 

Your RCUH timesheets are available NOW through 12:00 noon on August 1, 2013.  We urge all projects to submit their online timesheets as soon as possible in the event of power failures, downed internet connections and other unforeseen circumstances.
