REMINDER:  RCUH’s 2014-2015 Benefit Open Enrollment Sessions


To:      All RCUH Regular 50-100% FTE Employees

 

The Annual RCUH Benefits Open Enrollment Period (BOEP) is here.  BOEP Forms/Documents were sent out to all RCUH benefits-eligible employees on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 and Wednesday, April 23, 2014, via email.  If you have not received your packet, please contact Jessica Gamiao or Moana Raquinio via email [email protected] to request for a duplicate packet.  Please review ALL of the materials provided.

 

RCUH’s 2014-2015 Benefit Open Enrollment Meetings have been finalized. During this time, you can make changes to your existing health plans and add on dependents. We will be announcing existing plan changes, changes to cost of premiums, and online resources. In addition, we will also have individual workshops outlining our voluntary insurances and flexible spending accounts. Please see below for information on the upcoming enrollment sessions:

Annual Performance Evaluation Training Sessions

Annual Performance Evaluations are coming soon!  Training sessions for all Principal Investigators, Supervisors, and Administrative Staff will be conducted by RCUH Human Resources to review/discuss the process and guidelines for the 2014 Annual Performance Evaluations and Pay Increases.  We encourage all PIs, Supervisors, and Administrative Staff to attend this training session.  The schedule of training sessions is as follows:

Policy 3.550 RCUH Retiree Health and Life Insurance Program Change – Elimination of $50 subsidy for Retiree Medical Insurance

Effective August 1, 2014, the RCUH will be eliminating the $50 per month subsidy to be used towards retiree medical insurance for RCUH retirees and their spouses.  We will post the revised policy on our website on August 1, 2014. The RCUH Retiree Term Life Insurance benefit will remain the same and will not be eliminated.

 

 

All retirees (and spouses) who are currently receiving this benefit will remain grandfathered into this benefit and have been notified via email and U.S. Mail. We have also provided notice via email and U.S. Mail to all current employees who are eligible for the $50 per month subsidy as of April 16, 2014. We will be providing additional information on this policy change and will address any questions relating to this change during our upcoming 2014 Open Enrollment sessions. ATTENTION:  Regular status employees 50-100% FTE

If you are currently participating in RCUH’s Group Retirement Annuity (GRA) and/or Supplemental Retirement Annuity (SRA) plans administered through TIAA-CREF OR if you are interested in enrolling into a TIAA-CREF SRA plan, the RCUH Human Resources Department is now coordinating one-hour Individual/Employee Retirement Counseling Sessions with TIAA-CREF.  During these meetings, you will be able to discuss your personal financial/retirement goals with a TIAA-CREF Financial Consultant, on a free and confidential basis.

A TIAA-CREF representative will be able to assist you with planning for your retirement goals, including:

  • Setting realistic goals for key life events and retirement
  • Reviewing your investment mix and strategy
  • Selecting your TIAA-CREF options
  • Learning about TIAA-CREF retirement income flexibility 

For employees unfamiliar with the SRA plan, it is considered a 403(b) tax-deferred annuity plan which allows an employee to make contributions via payroll deduction from his/her pre-tax earnings towards an individual retirement plan (i.e., SRA) through our third party administrator, TIAA-CREF.  Enrolling or making changes to your SRA election may be done at any time during the year. For more information about the GRA and SRA plans, please go to our website, www.rcuh.com and review the RCUH Retirement Plans Policy (3.560).

Requesting Reclassifications of Existing Positions

The RCUH Human Resources Department is implementing changes in our work processes to streamline our business processes.  These changes in work and business procedures should save you time and expedite actions. 

Requesting Reclassifications of existing positions: 

The RCUH will no longer require a signed memo from the Principal Investigator requesting employee reclassification. Effective immediately, reclassification requests will only require an email from the Principal Investigator/Project Administrator, a revised position description (electronic version with Track Changes) and the employee’s updated resume/CV. 

We have revised RCUH Policy 3.360 RCUH Performance Based Compensation to reflect the revised requirements.

TIAA-CREF Individual Retirement Counseling
