IRS FORM 1095-C FOR TAX YEAR 2017

TO:      RCUH Employees Who Have Worked 50% Full-Time Equivalency or More and Have Enrolled in Health Coverage During the 2017 Calendar Year

RCUH Employees Who Have Worked 75% Full-Time Equivalency or More and Have Been Offered Health Coverage During the 2017 Calendar Year

As part of our compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Law (PPACA), the RCUH is required to provide you with IRS Form 1095-C. This form will provide you with important information about the health insurance coverage that was offered to you during the 2017 calendar year.

All employees who met the eligibility criteria above will receive a paper Form 1095-C. This form will be mailed to your current mailing address on record as of January 25, 2018 in Mid-February.

We will provide another update when the forms are mailed.

 Employees who previously submitted consent for an electronic IRS Form 1095-C:

You will not be able to view your 2017 Form 1095-C on the RCUH Employee Self-Service (ESS) system. You will receive a paper copy via postal mail to your mailing address on record in ESS as of January 25, 2018. The paper Form 1095-C will be mailed out in Mid-February. If you do not receive your form at that time, please contact RCUH Information Systems ([email protected]) for assistance.

You may view your 2015 and 2016 Form 1095-C (if applicable) on Employee Self-Service at www.rcuh.com: Employee Self-Service > enter User ID and Password > Employee Self-Service tab > Benefits > View 1095-C Form > Tax Form.

Wage and Tax Statement (W-2 Forms) for Tax Year 2017

The Wage and Tax Statement (W-2) forms for the 2017 tax year have been completed.

Employees who submitted consent for an electronic W-2:

Your 2017 W-2 form is now available on the RCUH Employee Self-Service system at www.rcuh.com:

Employee Self-Service  > enter User ID and Password > Employee Self-Service tab > Payroll and Compensation > View W-2/W-2c Forms > Year End Form

If you are having difficulties opening your .pdf W-2 form, please make sure that the pop-up blocker on your browser is off or allows our website (https://hr.rcuh.com).


For employees who did NOT consent to receive an electronic W-2:

A paper W-2 form will be mailed to your current mailing address on record on Monday, January 29, 2018.

IMPORTANT YEAR-END REMINDER – Update Your Personal Information and Electronic W-2 Consent

FINAL REMINDER REGARDING YOUR 2017 IRS W-2

This is your final reminder to update your personal information as it will affect your 2017 W-2, and also to consent to receive an electronic W-2.  If you have already done so, please disregard this notice.

If changes are needed or to consent for an electronic W-2, you will be able to do so via the Employee Self Service (ESS) portal from January 19th, 8:00 a.m. to January 21st, 5:00 p.m.

Deadline – Sunday, January 21, 2018 by 5:00 p.m.

For your convenience, below is an action checklist list to consider in closing your 2017 obligations:

TIAA Individual Retirement Counseling Sessions (Hilo)

ATTENTION:  Regular status employees 50-100% FTE

If you are currently participating in RCUH’s Group Retirement Annuity (GRA) and/or Supplemental Retirement Annuity (SRA) plans administered through TIAA OR if you are interested in enrolling into a TIAA SRA plan, the RCUH Human Resources Department is now coordinating one-hour Individual/Employee Retirement Counseling Sessions with TIAA.  During these meetings, you will be able to discuss your personal financial/retirement goals with a TIAA Financial Consultant, on a free and confidential basis.

A TIAA representative will be able to assist you with planning for your retirement goals, including:

  • Setting realistic goals for key life events and retirement
  • Reviewing your investment mix and strategy
  • Selecting your TIAA options
  • Learning about TIAA retirement income flexibility

For employees unfamiliar with the SRA plan, it is considered a 403(b) tax-deferred annuity plan which allows an employee to make contributions via payroll deduction from his/her pre-tax earnings towards an individual retirement plan (i.e., SRA) through our third party administrator, TIAA.  Enrolling or making changes to your SRA election may be done at any time during the year. For more information about the GRA and SRA plans, please go to our website, www.rcuh.com and review the RCUH Retirement Plans Policy (3.560).
